As for the quality of the water softener itself, the machine has an excellent build with a fantastic warranty. Hopefully the softener lasts long enough that I don't have to replace it, but if I did I would definitely contact Purisoft again. Asked if there were any hidden or extra charges before he started install..was guaranteed there was not as it was a very fast and easy install...perfect. I ordered my softener frm these con artists before my new house closed..approx. The day before the close I get a call from these jokes saying they cant make it and will reschedule me in another two months lol...cancel the order and I want my money back then. After phone tag and bickering they decided to show up per my scheduled date.

The initial costs are higher but the longevity of both systems is bolstered in this set up. If you have a refrigerator with a water dispenser, you may find it difficult to find replacement filters. If you purchase from a company that sells door-to-door, you may end up paying more because the salesperson is paid high commissions. A large portion of what you are spending goes to cover the commission and not into the purchase of a quality product. Furthermore, once the sales company leaves you may not be able to get product support or maintenance service.
